    This workshop is the part of the SHRM Competency-Based Education for Chapters series which are designed to help members develop effective strategies for applying competencies in their day-to-day HR functions.  SHRM designed this workshop to give HR practitioners a basic understanding of HR Analytics. During this workshop, participants will learn the basic concept of HR Analytics, its importance to HR and business, what HR Analytics is designed to address and how to establish an analytics function within an HR department. The goal for this workshop is to help reduce HR practitioner apprehension of analytics and set the foundation for broader and more effective use of analytics across the HR field.

    Presenters:  Amy Bergman, SHRM-SCP, SPHR & Melissa Tsuji, MA, SHRM-CP

    Amy Bergman, SHRM-SCP, SPHR -- Amy is the President of Insight HRM, LLC.  She has an array of experience in Human Resource Consulting, Municipal Government, Non-Profit Organizations, Retail, Health and the Financial Services industries.  Amy’s role is providing strategic HR Solutions for a variety of financial institutions, nonprofits and small businesses.  Amy serves on the Board of Directors for the HR Association of Southeast Michigan and has been an instructor through Jackson College’s Corporate Continuing Education for the HR Certification Prep (PHR/SPHR) Course.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in Human Resources.

    Melissa Tsuji, MA, SHRM-CP -- Melissa has been an educator at Siena Heights University for 24 years.  She works in Career Services and also teaches courses in business communications, art history, career exploration and internship preparation.  She is passionate about helping her students be the best that they can be. Melissa is currently Co-President of HRASM and has been College Relations Chair.  She is also a member of the Project SEARCH Business Advisory Council, American Farm Museum Board of Directors and volunteers as an advocate at Hickman Cancer Center.
